Die Voraussage der Schaffung eines Judenstaates binnen 50 Jahren wurde
auch von Theodor Herzl bereits auf dem ersten Kongress der Zionisten
gemacht, und sie ist eintroffen, wenn man mal davon absieht, dass es kein
Judenstaat sondern ein Zionistenstaat wurde.

Die Voraussage eines Bürgerkrieges innerhalb 100 Jahren wäre aber sehr
bemerkenswert und verdient deshalb Aufmerksamkeit.

Die LOS ANGELES TIMES gibt es seit 1881, und sie ist in einem halben
Dutzend deutscher Bibliotheken noch vorhanden. Man kann also den Text
finden - wenn man entweder den Tag des Artikel weiß oder eben viel Zeit
zum Blättern hat.
Falls jemand durch "gurgeln" den Tag des Artikels noch herausfinden kann,
würde ich die Besorgung des Textes übernehmen.

Ich gebe da ein paar Zusatzinfos, Franz ist da leider immer sehr sparsam damit.
Gefunden hat er diesen Naftali Hertz Imber gestern im prophecies.us Forum.
Leider gibt es dort dazu bisher keine informativen Folgebeiträge. Deshalb habe ich mal ein bißchen recherchiert und bisher folgendes gefunden:

"Imber was the subject of an Oct. 15 story in "Tablet magazine" by Rutgers University Yiddish scholar Eddie Portnoy, who brought Imber’s 1897 predictions back to light."

D.h. dieser Eddie Portnoy hat diesen "Los Angeles Times" Artikel von 1897 wiederentdeckt, und somit verbreitet sich das seither im Internet.
Diesen Artikel vom 15. Oktober (wahrscheinlich 2009?) könnte man vllt. auch mal nachprüfen.

Der "Los Angeles Times" Artikel von 1897 trug den Titel: "America’s Destiny"

"At least one of Naftali Hertz Imber’s predictions for 2010, as recorded in an 1897 Los Angeles Times article headlined “America’s Destiny,” was spot-on: “The Californian wine will be famous all over the world, as the French champagne is at present"

Wenn dies so in dem Artikel steht hätten wir schon mal eine Vorhersage, die eingetreten ist, zumal Kalifornien in den letzten Jahren verstärkt auf hochpreisigere Rebsorten setzt: Merlot und Cabernet Sauvignon (-> derzeit versorgt Kalifornien 90% von USA mit Wein):
"Das wohl wichtigste Weinanbaugebiet der USA ist Kalifornien. Hier werden auf einer Fläche von ca. 200 000 Hektar ca. 90 Prozent des amerikanischen Weins hergestellt. Seit ca. 30 Jahren blühen die Weinanbaugebiete hier regelrecht auf und gewinnen immer mehr an Zuspruch unter den Weinliebhabern. Sowohl die Qualität der Weißweine als auch die der Rotweine ist im Laufe der letzten Jahrzehnte enorm gestiegen....Doch auch hier nimmt die Anzahl der außerordentlich guten Weine immer mehr zu. So pflanzte man gerade in den letzten Jahren vermehrt Qualitätsrebsorten wie Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot oder Riesling an."

Den Durchbruch für die Solartechnologie scheint auch ein Treffer zu sein (WENN dies so in dem Artikel von 1897 steht!):

Eine weiteres (zukünftiges) Geschehnis wäre ja die Spaltung der USA in einen Ost und Weststaat, was derzeit absolut undenkbar ist, aber wer weiß>
Auslöser dafür soll ein neuer Gouverneur von Kansas sein:
"In the year 2010, America will face a great period of hard times, which will give birth to important events, giving history another direction and changing the map of all the countries on the face of the globe,” Imber wrote in 1897.

Hard times, check. And the next part, about the advent of solar power, seems prescient, too, if a bit overstated. (It will “supply the force to drive the locomotives and vehicles of all descriptions …”)

But the ensuing section, about Kansas, seems, well, far-fetched.

“In the year above mentioned, an election for Governor will take place in Kansas State,” Naftali Imber wrote. “The campaign will be a hot one, and all the eyes of the Union will be directed to the development of the struggle in that State, which will be regarded as the most radical and progressive of the United States. A powerful Governor will be elected, who will be an exact type of the State itself; every inch a progressive radical. The shibboleth of the Kansas Legislature will be; ‘The West for Westerners,’ and in a fit of patriotic and progressive excitement the Kansas State will secede from the Union. Missouri and Illinois will follow suit directly afterward, and at a convention of all the Governors of the Western States, which will be held in Chicago, they will declare themselves disunited from the Union.

“The most disastrous war that the world has ever seen will ensue. Over 4,000,000 soldiers will be arrayed against one another in the open field.”

Imber goes on to predict that the South will ally itself with the West, and together they will defeat the East. Later on, he writes, the East, or Atlantic Empire, will go to war with Canada, while the Western Empire will go to war with Mexico.

The writer Portnoy couldn’t resist this quip in his Tablet article:
“Farfetched as Imber’s prophecy seems, its major question right now seems to be how quickly Kansas can become ultra-liberal.”

Selbst ein Nachfahre von Naftali Hertz Imber, der Anwalt ´Steve Imber ist da sehr skeptisch:
"The part about Kansas seceding from the union and leading a second American civil war that shifts the map of the world? Not likely to be borne out, says Naftali Imber’s descendent who lives in Kansas, attorney Steve Imber."

Seit April 28, 2009 wird Kansas von Mark Parkinson (Democratic) geführt:
"The term will end January 10, 2011, and Parkinson has indicated he will not be a candidate for election in his own right.
There is no lifetime limit on the number of times he or she may be elected, but a governor who has been elected to two consecutive terms must be out of office for at least one election cycle before being eligible once again for re-election. Elections occur at the same time as the Congressional midterm elections, and each term begins on the second Monday of January following the election. The lieutenant governor is subject to the same limitations and runs on a combined ticket with the governor.
If the governor becomes incapacitated, the lieutenant governor assumes the duties of the governor. However if both offices become vacant, the line of succession is determined by the legislature. Under present law, the President of the Senate would be next in line to assume the governorship, followed by the Speaker of the House."

Parkinson war früher Republikaner, gilt aber als konservativ, keinesfalls als ultra liberal.
