Hallo!

"While many people have been known to have premonitions of events that they can do nothing to change, some premonitions do seem designed to spur action toward changing the future, and some people appear to have accomplished this goal. One particularly intriguing case comes from Andrew Paquette, who had a vivid and detailed dream of being shot and killed when two muggers forced him down an alley in an Amsterdam street. He was currently living in Amsterdam and took this dream as sufficient reason to make arrangements to move back to the States, where he was from. Two weeks later, he was returning from picking up his plane ticket from the travel agency when he realized he was walking on the street from his dream. Two muscular men proceeded to approach him, one of them grabbing him and asking him how much money he had on him. Paquette then realized that there, ahead of him, was the alley from his dream. Knowing that he was doomed if he let the men get him into the alley, he came up with a way to confuse them long enough to allow him to get away.
Among the many intriguing aspects of this dream (and there are more than I’ve been able to describe here), there’s the fact that Paquette was only on the street where the mugging occurred because of his dream. If he’d never had the dream, he wouldn’t have bought the plane ticket, and he wouldn’t have been walking home from the travel agency and encountered the muggers. So it seems that the dream wasn’t only designed to rescue him from a perilous situation. It appears to have been designed to first put him in the perilous situation and then rescue him. Perhaps, above all, the purpose of this dream was to make him aware of the psychic power of his dreams. In any case, we see once again that the significance of psychic events is not a simple affair."

Die Anekdote stammt ursprünglich aus dem Buch "Dreamer: 20 Years of Psychic Dreams and How They Changed My Life" von Andrew Paquette.
