I live in northern New England near the Canadian border.
Yes I stayed in Taos, New Mexico for a month in the summer of 1970, There was a hippy commune that one of my girlfriends knew there. I often visited Taos Pueblo where the Indians live. Wonderful people, very artistic.
You say that there are Solari settlements? Paulo Solari the architect had a small solar underground school of architecture and a model underground city in Phoenix, Arizona in the late 60's that was very interesting.
