Die Louisiana State University hat (wie fast alle staatlichen Unis in Amerika) verschiedene Institute an verschiedenen Orten des Staates.

Vielleicht hast Du den Link nicht gelesen:

Louisiana State University’s Medical School has a Level-3 biolab in the Clinical Sciences Research Building located at 533 Bolivar Street. According to grant applications, LSU’s facility was the site of research involving anthrax and genetically-engineered mousepox.

Die Adresse wird auch auf deren eigener Website (derzeit unerreichbar, hier aus dem Google Cache) bestätigt, ebenso findet sich eine grobe Aufzählung der Forschungsgebiete, allerdings natürlich ohne die Details der "heißen" Projekte.

Auf der Website der Louisiana State University Health Science findet man außerdem folgende Nachricht, die, obwohl vorsichtig formuliert, vermuten läßt, daß es Versuche mit Tieren gab, die zu Schäden an Menschen hätten führen können:

To Federally Funded Principal Investigators

The LSU Health Science has communicated with federal funding agencies to notify them of the temporary cessation of research efforts at the LSU Health Science Center and to request that programmatic and financial reporting be waived until further notice. We have also notified the USDA regarding the research animals housed in our vivariums. We are addressing the issues related to human subjects protection and alerting the appropriate federal officials in that regard. While some of the LSUHSC clinical trials have ceased, others conducted at off site locations are continuing and a process for approval and continuing review is being formulated at this time. We will provide additional details when they are available.
