da hat ein Herr Wells doch den zweiten Weltkriegsbeginn
akurat gedeutet und den vom dritten noch präziser.
Na, lest selbst.

It has been claimed that in his little-known 1933 book "The Shape of Things To Come", futurist author H.G. Wells accurately predicted World War II would start "circa 1939" because of a conflict "between Germany and Poland". So Wells apparently knew the answer six years before the question even became evident. How spooky is that?I checked the claim in our only copy of Wells' old and faded 1933 book, currently archived in the State Library of Western Australia. No worries, he did make that accurate prediction.
More spooky still, in the same book Wells writes that World War III is to commence, “from some future [unidentified] event in Basrah, Iraq”.
To say this is interesting would be an gross understatement, especially bearing in mind the size and power of the nuclear-tipped Russian Fleet currently en-route for the Arabian Sea at 28 knots.
I fear that Nostradamus will have to go to the back of the queue. Instead of vague ambiguous code that could mean anything, H.G. Wells uses actual place names and events...
Details of these strange matters have been included at the bottom of the "Operation Iraqi Freedom" page. Scroll down to the last five paragraphs here:-
