daß sie bereits seit über einem Jahr an einem
neuartigen Abwehrsystem basteln würden, dessen Technologie
allen anderen weit überlegen wäre.(wie so häufig)
Interessant dazu, sind seine Bemerkungen zu dem zwielichtigen
Verhältnissen der US Maßnahmen. Zum Einen wird dort vorgegeben,
daß diese R.Abwehr gegen die Schurkenstaaten sei,
zum Anderen jedoch, werden diese nach kalten Kriegsverhältnissen
angelegt, also mit Ru im Visier.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has outlined terms and principles which theoretically may underlie the cooperation between Russia and the United States in the field of strategic missile defense.

Inspecting a unit of the space troops in the Moscow region, Sergei Ivanov told journalists that such cooperation is only possible in case it poses no threat to the national interests of Russia. The trip persuaded him that "in the field of antimissile defense, we have technologies no country has." We need a system of protection of our intellectual property and technologies, said the Russian defense minister.

Possible Russian-American cooperation in strategic antimissile defense should be build up on the legal basis and the missile defense systems should not be aimed against each other, stressed Sergei Ivanov.

Today and in the foreseeable future the American plans to unfold strategic antimissile defense do not threaten Russia's national security but several elements of these plans are questionable, he said. As an example Sergei Ivanov cited plans for including early- warning stations found in Britain and Greenland in the National Missile Defense system of the United States.

Sergei Ivanov wondered: nobody has yet given a clear answer why these missile-attack-warning systems are found in Britain and Greenland if the missile trajectories of the so-called rogue states just cannot reach there?
