I didn't realize Germany had these problems. Do they have problems with "political correctness"?

What will happen to the German people when they finally have the "schnauze voll"?

When I visited Germany several years ago I brought some halloween masks for my cousin's children and I wore one while playing with them in the garden. The neighbors told me it was against the law. Why? Are moslem women allowed to wear a veil? I saw some on the street in Stuttgart with veils.
