Guten Morgen Forum!

Diesen Winter läuft der Spielfilm "Supervolcano" auf BBC1; begleitet von zwei Dokumentationen zum Thema Yellowstone, bzw. Supervulkane rund um den Globus.
Obwohl ein Ausbruch derzeit nicht befürchtet wird, beschäftigt man sich damit...mhm..
...ich kann mich des Eindrucks nicht erwehren, dass Film-und Fernsehmedien den Finger sehr genau am Puls der Zeit haben...denkt nur an all die Katastrophenreißer die in letzter Zeit auf den Film-Markt kamen...

..oder soll damit der politisch unzufriedene Bürger ruhig gestellt werden? ..eine weltweite Katastrophe wie in "The Day After Tomorrow", oder von mir aus "Supervolcanao" relativiert politische Ansichten...

"danach" gehts nur mehr ums Überleben...wir halten zusammen, als Nation, als Familie...

...und jeder kann locker akzeptieren , wenn der Nationale Notstand ausgerufen wird...

Supervolcano erupts on BBC ONE this winter

Supervolcano sets fire to a £178m season where science, history, literary adaptation and natural history join comedy and drama in the heart of peak time

Supervolcano is a true story - it just hasn't happened yet. Set in the near future, this factually based drama charts the possible consequences of one of nature's most cataclysmic events.

Using specially commissioned research from several major scientific bodies, studies of previous supervolcanic eruptions and predictions drawn from a range of scientific disciplines, Supervolcano details what could happen if Yellowstone were to erupt again.

Although there are several supervolcanoes around the world, only the one beneath Yellowstone National Park in the USA is currently active.

Unlike ordinary volcanoes, supervolcanoes are not obvious from the surface.

Volcanologists believe it is only a matter of time before the molten magna contained within its chamber will burst out.

When supervolcanoes erupt they do so with a force thousands of times greater than eruptions such as that at Mount Vesuvius.

Supervolcano will be accompanied by a two part documentary running on BBC TWO. The Science Behind Supervolcano explores the cutting edge scientific research that informs the drama and features experts who monitor the behaviour of supervolcanos around the world.
