hi,

nimm das.

Famous clairvoyant predicts gloomy year for Lebanon
Israeli invasion among future events according to sage
Sabine Alphonse Chalhoub
Special to The Daily Star

The next year does not look good for Lebanon. A bridge will collapse, the Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Nasrallah Butros Sfeir will fall ill and Israel will invade once again.
This is, at least, what renowned clairvoyant Michel Hayek sees happening. On a special New Year’s Eve program on the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI), he made his predictions for 2004, as every year.
Michel Hayek’s sixth sense acquired worldwide fame when he predicted the first Challenger disaster in 1986, six days before it happened. He is also said to have predicted to Princess Diana personally that she was in danger, just four months before her deadly accident.
Not only did the princess believe in the clairvoyant’s abilities. Many leaders of state are said to have consulted Hayek, among them Ronald Reagan, who received him at the White House.
This year, the predictions he made at LBCI for 2004 are more than gloomy.
Only three positive things are supposed to happen. Employees’ salaries will rise; the state-run television station Tele Liban will have a positive comeback; and Hollywood will open its doors to a Lebanese actor.
The list of bad events is long. Some of them anybody could see happening, such as a famous person committing suicide, or a television station being closed down for a short while.
But some of Hayek’s predictions are quite precise, like the Maronite Patriarch and Samir Geagea facing health problems. He also sees some kind of scandal with the Lebanese National Lottery.
Other predictions are so scary, they seem unbelievable. There will be some kind of tragedy at Beirut International Airport, Hayek says. He sees a building or bridge collapsing and bloody rubble in a bank.
But it gets worse. Israel will take over other parts of Lebanon, and in an attempt to murder a famous Lebanese personality, many others will be the victims.
In the Arab world, Hayek does not see Yasser Arafat or Hamas leader Sheikh Yassine anywhere in Palestine’s future. There will be a successor to the Saudi Arabian throne, two influential Arabs will pass away, and on a more positive note, there might be a spread of Arab schools in Israel.
And around the world? Lady Diana’s death will be investigated again, bringing new information to light and creating deep troubles for the British royal family. France will see a surge of terrorism and Hayek foresees additional catastrophes for the United States … for the next four to five years.
Some believe that people who foretell the future have a connection with the spirits. As Hayek put it, “I am a deep believer in God and my relationship with him is that of a slave and his master. All I need is a little concentration to help me remember my visions and draw them in a precise manner.”
Hayek says he does not foresee the future as a profession. But he does get paid, and many times by well-known personalities and companies on Lebanon’s star scene. In a small reportage on LBCI, some of these personalities gave credit to Hayek for accurately predicting events in their lives.
LBCI show host Tony Khalife recalled when he and Hayek were at the airport just a few days before the airplane crash in Benin and Hayek had predicted many tears at Beirut’s airport.
Tonia Merheb, television show host, called Hayek one of the best clairvoyants in the world: “I can safely say he is the Nostradamus of our day,” she said. “He predicted things in my personal life, and I was very surprised when they happened.”
Current Miss Lebanon, Marie-Jose Hnein, said “Michel Hayek predicted that the next Miss Lebanon will have a compound first name. I didn’t take it into consideration at first, but when he predicted that I will come in the top 15 entrants of Miss World, that’s exactly what happened.”
At last year’s LBCI show, Hayek made 26 predictions for the year 2003, of which 24 came true. At least, that is what Hayek says.
True, he predicted that Kuwaiti prisoners in Iraq would be found either dead or alive (they were found dead), and he said that one of the universities in Lebanon would face deep and continuous troubles.
But he also foresaw a peace agreement between Lebanon, Syria and Israel and a black shadow over Sharon’s destiny both predictions that probably belonged more to the world of wishful thinking.
He said the singer Shakira will have a dramatic accident and spoke much about Iraq’s future. Mentioning some military action, he said it would not be as bad as predicted, and Iraq would overcome what it is passing through.
