Syria dismisses Olmert offer to hold peace talks

Syria has rejected Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's offer to hold peace talks with President Bashar Assad. Damascus does not believe Olmert's overtures are serious, Syrian parliament member Muhammad Habash said late Monday night.

'War with Syria will be 10 times worse than with Hizbullah'

Predicting that war with Syria could erupt if Prime Minister Ehud Olmert does not begin peace negotiations with Damascus, the latest IDF assessment also states that such a conflict would be "at least 10 times worse" than last summer's conflict with Hizbullah.

Beirut- Syria has urged its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country before July 15 because of fears that the volatile political climate in the country will deteriorate, Syrian sources said Monday.
