Wie schon im Vietnamkrieg benutzen die Amis auch in der irakischen
Wüste lieber erbeutete AK-47-Gewehre statt ihre Spielzeug-M-16. Die
Kalschnikow - entwickelt 1947 - ist auch heute noch die beste Waffe
der Welt. Allerdings nur Kriegswaffe, zur Hasenjagd taugt sie nicht.


Mikhail Kalashnikov, designer of the world's most popular assault
rifle, says that U.S. soldiers in Iraq are using his invention in
preference to their own weapons, proving that his gun is still the
best.

"Even after lying in a swamp you can pick up this rifle, aim it
and shoot. That's the best job description there is for a gun.
Real soldiers know that and understand it," the 86-year-old gun
maker told a weekend news conference in Moscow. (....)

Was meint Basey dazu? Sollte er nicht eine AK-47 haben, nachdem
das temporäre Clinton-Gesetz gegen automatische Waffen durch Bush
auslaufen gelassen wurde?
